Master Namer (masternamer.com and the Master Namer iOS app) is operated by Dialogs. This page explains what information we collect, why we collect it, and the choices you have. Questions or requests: support@dialogs.com.
What we collect and why
- Email address and display name. Your email address is your login identity and is where we send account email (verification, password reset, and account-change notices). Your display name may be shown to other players next to content you share.
- Password. Stored only as a salted hash. We never store or transmit your password in plain text.
- IP address. Recorded when you register, create or edit content, or submit a report, and used for rate limiting and abuse prevention. Short-lived rate-limit records are purged within days; the address recorded on content you create is kept as long as that content exists.
- Decks and cards you create. The names, answers, text, and images in your decks are stored so the game can show them. Private decks are visible only to you and to people you give a share link to; public decks are visible to everyone.
- AI image prompts. If you use AI image generation, your prompt is sent to fal.ai (routed via Hugging Face), a third-party image-generation service, to create the image. Generated images are automatically screened for NSFW content before they are shown.
- Speech audio. We never receive or store your voice. In the iOS app, speech recognition is performed by Apple’s speech recognizer; when Apple uses server-based recognition, Apple receives the audio under Apple’s terms. On the web, recognition is performed by your browser’s speech engine.
Cookies
We use a session cookie (PHPSESSID) to keep you logged in, and one small
cookie per shared deck you have opened (named mn_deck_…) so those
decks stay on your deck picker. The shared-deck cookies are bookmarks, not tracking
— each contains only that deck’s share code. We use no analytics or
advertising trackers.
Sharing
When you share a private deck, anyone who has the link can see and play that deck, and share links cannot be revoked. Please don’t put personal information in a deck you plan to share.
Moderation
Any deck or card can be reported from the app or the website. Reports (including the reporter’s IP address and, if logged in, account) are reviewed by a human, and reported content may be hidden or removed.
Data retention and deletion
You can permanently delete your account — together with all of your decks and cards — at any time, from the account screen in the iOS app or from Preferences on the web. Deletion is immediate and cannot be undone. Accounts that are never verified are deleted automatically after 7 days.
Children
Master Namer is a general-audience game. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13; accounts require a working email address. If you believe a child has created an account, contact us and we will delete it.
Changes to this policy
If this policy changes, we will update this page and the date at the top.
